ADVANCED NITROX/DECO PROCEDURES

We will teach you how to plan some more of the outer edge, exciting dives of your life as learn how to figure out the best mix for you while swimming at depth and then ascend using the optimum mixtures to efficiently execute your dives! Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to use the full range of Nitrox mixtures up to and including pure oxygen, for both your back gas and your decompression gas, enabling you to extend your time underwater safely and conduct accelerated decompression if you choose to. These courses can be completed over three days, but it is highly recommended that the prospective student considers scheduling an extra fourth day as the work load involved in taking these two courses combined can be quite intense.

While delving deeper into the  physiological and physical sides of technical diving, we will be planning and executing both simulated and real decompression dives. Using the classroom and also working in the field, we will cover such aspects of technical diving as the breakdown and usage of an oxygen analyzer to confirm your breathing mixtures, working out your gas consumption at varying depths and even show you how to plan dives with different gases. It is highly recommended that you have your own oxygen analyzer, but I can provide one if needed. In addition, we will cover the equipment configurations of both stage and deco bottles and during our dives together we will concentrate on the successful deployment and use of those cylinders, integrating these techniques into your repertoire of diving skills.

You will need to have both the Advanced Nitrox and the Decompression Procedures book from TDI, which I can send out to you ahead of time and the only prerequisite for the Adv Nitrox/Deco Procedures course is Basic Nitrox or it's equivalent. It will also really help with the course if you have a year or two of diving experience under your belt and I highly recommend that if you're not yet familiar with a technical diving rig such as doubles, harness and wings that you enroll in my Intro to Tech class, which will introduce you to the basics of a technical set up and give you a head start on this exciting technical class. Equipment requirements include primary cylinder(s), a decompression cylinder, regulators and a lift bag (minimum of 25lbs lift, 50lbs recommended).

As with all cave and technical classes that I offer, please realize that participation in the class does not guarantee certification. Should you not end up with a certification, I will provide you with a list of areas that need more practice and am more than happy to assist you in working with these. If you have any questions regarding equipment, training, scheduling or about the course in general, please feel free to contact me at rich@netcommander.com and generally I will respond back to you within twelve to twenty-four hours.
